I like it when photographs of birds and wildlife show some of the environment where they live. Love the subject matter. To me raptors are such a mystical bird.

Danny, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. The raptors are mystical birds, I agree!

Artist's Description

Across the street we could hear a cacophony of bird calls in the tallest tree. Looking for the cause, we could see the crows and other birds were raising the alarm because of the hawk perched high in the branches, Lucky for me, in just a few minutes the beautiful hawk gracefully glided across the way and landed in a tree just a few feet from where we were standing!

Though red tailed hawks are common birds, it's fairly uncommon to see one in our neighborhood. I often look for the message in unusual sightings like this. Hawk has piercingly clear sight, and great patience, and teaches visionary power. Among hawk's many messages, he will show how to see more in life from a higher perspective of truth.

Maybe you've seen one or more hawks yourself, or maybe you consider the hawk your totem animal. If you'd like to know more about hawk, a site I enjoy is Animal Totems: Dictionary of Birds at this link: http://www.starstuffs.com/animal_totems/dictionary_of_birds.htm
